NHDC celebrated its 10th Raising Day on 1st August 2009 at Smanvya Bhawan,Apex Bank Parisar, Bhopal with full enthusiasm.A Cultural Programme was also organised to celebrate on this occasion.Shri Babulal Gaur, Hon’ble Minister,Urban Admn. Dev, Bhopal Gas Tragedy Relief & Rehab. Deptt, as Chief Guest. and Shri Kanhaiyalal Agarwal,Hon’ble Minister of State,GAD, Aviation Deptt were present as distinguished guests to grace the occasion. Many other dignitaries from Govt of MP were also present during the Programme.Sh K.M. Singh, Chief Executive Director,GMs, Chiefs/Chief Engineers and other officers and Staff along with their family members participated in the programme with full enthusiasm.Hon’ble Chief Guest Congratulated the NHDC team on 10th Raising Day of NHDC.He appreciated the achievements of NHDC for meeting peak power demand from 1000MW Indira Sagar and 520MW Omkareshwar Projects.Hon’ble Chief Guest further stated that keeping in view the achievements of NHDC in development of hydropower,Govt. of MP has agreed to setup 1320MW Supercritical Thermal Power Project through NHDC.He also assured to give all possible support from Govt of MP to NHDC in completing the diversification plans.Shri Shri Kanhaiyalal Agarwal emphasized on development of more and more power projects in the state.He said that the role played by NHDC deserves to be commended, in changing the power scenario of Madhya Pradesh.Sh K.M. Singh welcomed all the guests and apprised the Hon’ble Chief Guest and other distinguished guests about various milestones of NHDC achieved during the last Nine Years.He gave brief detail about the role of NHDC in development of Hydropower and necessity of diversifiacation into thermal and wind power in Madhya Pradesh.He assured the Hon’ble guests about commitment of NHDC in making the state of Madhya Pradesh self reliant in the Power.He expressed his gratitude to GoMP for signing of MoU with NHDC for 1320MW Supercritical Thermal Power Project.
