NHDC Ltd(a Joint venture of NHPC & Govt of MP)has been permitted by Govt of Madhya Pradesh to install 1320MW(2x660MW) super critical technology based Reva Thermal Power Station in the Khandwa Distt of MP at periphery of Indira Sagar reservoir It may be noted that Narmada Hydroelectric Development Corporation Limited has recently ventured out in diversification to explore generation of power from other conventional & non-conventional sources of energy,in addition to the Hydropower Projects Accordingly, the Corporation has made changes in its name as NHDC Ltd NHDC has identified the suitable site for proposed Reva Thermal Power Station and initiated preparation of PFR for getting preliminary approval of Govt of India Application has been submitted for Coal linkage to the Govt of India and it is expected to get the linkage shortly. NHDC in past nine years has earned the credentials by completing its major hydel power projects i.e Indira Sagar(1000MW) and Omkareshwar Project(520MW) within the schedule and as such has assured Govt of MP that all efforts shall be made to complete this Thermal Power Project within the schedule time period of four years, so as to relieve the state from the deficit of power NHDC will construct the project with its internal resources without taking additional equity either from Govt of MP or NHPC Ltd The project will involve latest state of the art technology to achieve the best efficiency in the field Sole beneficiary i.e Govt of MP has agreed to buy power from project at CERC derived tariff.MoU with GoMP for execution of this super critical technology based 2x660MW Thermal Power Plant, has been signed on 29th June 2009 Sh K L Agrawal, Hon’ble Minister of State, NVDD/GAD/Avivation, GoMP, Sh S K Garg CMD(NHPC & NHDC)and other dignitaries of the Govt of MP were graced occasion The MOU was signed by Sh Pradip Bhargava, Addl Chief Secretary, NVDD on behalf of GoMP and Sh K M Singh,Chief Executive Director,NHDC on behalf of NHDC Ltd
